Anti-Imperialist Children
Sixth grade kids from New York have sent letters to a U.S. soldier criticizing the war in Iraq, including such sentiments as: "Bush thinks he's brave ... in his safe little white house with as many guards as he thinks he needs." He concluded with: "By the way, when you shoot someone, is it great or horrible?"
This kind of stuff gives me hope. No one can accuse these kids of having a political agenda, being bought off, in the hands of special interests, etc. They're reacting to what they hear in the news and at home, and drawing the right conclusions: the war against Iraq is wrong, and Bush is a coward. In spite of all the 'support our troops' propaganda, they're not buying it. The kids truly are all right.
