Two more political movies

On the topic of political films I like, here are two more of my favourites:

Jeanne et le garcon formidable (1997) - Virginie Ledoyen stars as a receptionist who falls in love with a man with some secrets of his own. A simple enough story, it's actually quite political: migrant labour, demonstrations and AIDS activism form the backdrop. Better yet, it's set in the sundrenched streets of Paris, and Jeanne sings and dances just like we'd want to, if we were there too.

Don't just support the rights of migrant workers, dance with them

Dirty Pretty Things (2002) - Chiwetel Ejiofor and Audrey Tatou star as two undocumented workers trying to survive in the cutthroat streets and workplaces of London. Both are forced by poverty and oppression to sell their time and souls to the bosses - yet they still manage to connect with each other. An intense thriller about the new working class.

I agree, we're the product of capitalist globalization's need for cheaper labour, but we still have to get the floors clean

I welcome your suggestions for other good political films in the Comments box.
