A voice from rural Nicaragua
I have a new blog to recommend: Musings on Society. An activist, and traveller, Sontin writes from the tiny village of Waslala, deep in the heartland of Nicaragua. He's perceptive and progressive - actually a rare thing for transplanted global-northerners, who tend to stick to their own kind and often adopt the soft-imperialist perspectives of their NGOs. But Sontin has a family in Nicaragua, studies world-systems theory and works for real, grassroots change. His voice is a welcome, fresh perspective to blogland, and I'm not just saying that cos I'm his friend.
