On a more positive note
I'm totally into Ali G these days. I really think he did something subversive. He targets people in power, and deflates them by asking stupid questions. He plays on their latent racism and discomfort with black people. His other personae are even more challenging. Borat brings out people's latent racism and anti-Semitism, by making it 'acceptable' to say really awful things. Check out his "Throw the Jew down the well" for a great example. And Bruno challenges homophobia in the most direct way possible, as well as taking well-deserved swipes at the vacuous fashion industry.
Bruno pigeonholes a homophobic skinhead
Today's other bandwagon is OpenOffice. It's a 'copy' of Microsoft Office, free and legal, built on open-source software i.e. made to be shared. I'm using the Mac version, NeoOffice. It's completely compatible with Windows files and lets you opt out of Bill Gates' empire. Check it out.
